A light! A light!

Ever wonder if Academia is brainwashing you and by the time you graduate you'll be incapable of having an independent thought of your own? I do. But it's finals week, after all, and in two weeks time my anger toward The System will have greatly subsided.

Today went well. I rocked my Change and Tradition final this morning. My prof handed back the Islam Unit test we took a week ago. I got a 98.5%. I nearly peed myself.

Two papers and a final. That's it. Just 20 pages, and a translation / grammatical analysis of Cicero. I'll be done Saturday, save for a second draft of a paper... taking an incomplete to get that done. Not a great situation, to be honest, but hey! Here I am, nothing I can do about it now. Almost done. (YEEEE!)

Sister is visiting again. She and the boy are picking up the Cadillac. Very exciting. I'll actually get to spend a few days with them later this week. Going home to dinner in a short while. Latin final in the morning (8 AM) looms, in the meanwhile, I'm doing a months worth of research in a night.

Yes, yes I do. I think. Except I don't really think that much anymore. But I suspect this thinking independently business will go away soon enuf. Graduation's only a year away, afterall. Maybe that's why I'm staying a year extra... too much of a thinker. Luckily I'm becoming more a J now ;)
