Highlight of my day: picking up my phone messages to find Marion blaring some French victory song into my earpiece. France beat New Zealand. It's a huge upset. Marion is French and plays rugby and is understandably thrilled. (I'm finding that one can never have too many rugby kids in their life.)
Oh, and yeah. I'm home. Back to the U.S., Indiana, and Butler, in that order of descending insular, bubble-osity. But I find myself increasingly with international students, which helps. Reminds me of Kyoto and keeps me from getting too down on my own city. They're all here for adventures and generally seem to love Indianapolis. It's a good mental space to be around.
This semester sees me a senior. I'm working on my thesis and taking some of the hardest classes of my collegiate career while at my most apathetic. That last bit has to change right about now though. Remember how homework was a joke and attendance was at times even discouraged in Japan? Yeah, not so much here.
Which reminds me. Anyone want to write my page and a half Japanese composition for me?
