So this evening I collapsed into my apartment and onto my floor... because that's where all my furniture is. A Japanese apartment life stereotype is in me.
Or something.
Anyway. Today wasn't all that bad. Parts of it even flew by rather quickly, thank Thesbit. My fellow JET teaching colleagues have noted that narcolepsy has become their greatest enemy at work, and my experience has been no different -- though I, at least, have an air conditioned staff room on my side. I think I might be the only one. "Zansho ga kibishii." The lingering summer heat is relentless. The "school servant" at one of my junior highs taught me that one. It's interesting what phrases they choose to teach me. Why that? Why not "Can you finish my dry cleaning by tomorrow and put in a little more starch this time?" I could have used that one today, by golly.
This reminds me, I should really do my ironing tonight. But then I'd have to move from the cozy spot on my floor where I first collapsed this evening. I'd have to tear myself away from my glass of (supposedly) low fat, under-pasteurized milk, my iTunesed "Lost" episodes, and my dark chocolate, which assures me it is "Chocolate in its truest form, maximized for savoring the pleasant essence of the cacao bean." Right there on the package. Maximized cacao beans. It cannot be a lie.
I've made great efforts at leading a productive life post weekday work hours. Some days I am far more successful than others. And today? Today is the first day of work after a three day weekend. And you want me to study Japanese, then strap a camera to my back and go jogging in the rice fields? Forget it. Maximized pleasant cacao essence and television wins the day, I'm afraid. But see. No one writes when they're happily busy with their lives. So score one for the blogosphere. I shall make pained efforts to be slothful more often. (Wait, what?)
...All this is to say that I will be posting again and with consistency. With no more thesis to write, my excess verbage has to go somewhere, right?

"No one writes when they're happily busy with their lives."
Often, so true. It takes great efforts to write while happily busy.
You are alive! I am excited to hear this. Yay for doing interesting things, even if it means I never hear from you :P
