I stopped by the old high school today. I needed to see about getting my transcript to Kenyon and Butler (and possibly Vassar for the hell of it). I made sure to get up early and time my arrival so I wouldn't have to deal with the mad rush of summer school dismissal.

I could tell when I pulled up no one was there. Most of the windows' blinds were closed, and the ones that weren't framed upside-down chairs in dark rooms. The parking lot was empty. I'm not sure why I bothered checking to see if the front door was locked. I didn't need to pull on it -- the dead bolt was visible through the crack. I thought about taking a closer look at the office window, and in retrospect I wish I had. Someone could have been back there. Supposedly they're keeping regular office hours.

Instead, I walked back to the car and went home.
