"Hamlet's experiences simply could not have happened to a plumber." --George Bernard Shaw
This quote, alone like this, is very much out of context. Shaw was pretty much saying that he felt in order for a character to have enough free time for self-analysis, that character would have to be in some way free of financial burden. When I first encountered this quote, however, I saw it all by its lonesome, and the thought struck me: I would very much like to see Mr. George Bernard Shaw proven wrong. I want to see Hamlet played as a plumber.
Mostly I want to see the "What a piece of work is man..." speach done kneeling next to a toilet with plunger in hand. It doesn't make any sense -- it doesn't work plotwise or anything like that -- I just want to see it done.
Reading back this post, I realize that I really need to be going to bed now.
