Pirates of the Caribbean was a fun movie. The jokes reminded me of The Princess Bride. Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush were especially entertaining. The special effects were really nifty. I wish I knew how they were done. The only thing I didn't like about the movie was the ending -- the Logic Nazi in me found it to be a little contrived -- but I can forgive that. Overall, it was too good a movie for me not to.

I've been calling college admissions offices. I had worried about my lack of foreign language, but it looks like that won't be a problem. The three schools I called -- Kenyon College, University of Chicago, and Butler University -- all said that so long my school doesn't require me to take a foreign language to graduate, it wouldn't be an issue. My school doesn't, so it won't. I cannot even express what a tremendous load off my mind this is.

I'm taking my ACTs on September 27 (I think) and my SATs on October 11. Nervous, but there are many resources out there to help me study. All I want is to get above a 1300 on my SATs. If I get that, I'll be happy.

Starting the college application process. I am still figuring out how exactly one goes about doing that, but as soon as I do, I'm sure it will go quickly. I'm slightly concerned about the essay(s) you have to send along with your application. I'm horrible about writing. That's not to say that I'm not good at it -- I think I am -- but it takes me a while to get going. I will feel better once I know what sort of essay they're going to want.

School's fun. I love learning. Mind you, studying is a completely different matter. I haven't been getting an unreasonable amount of homework, but it's more than I care for. (My ideal amount is nil.) Homework aside, school is good. I hope I always get to keep learning. ::pushes up glasses::
