Friday was educational.
"I'm sweating quite profusely, and we haven't really even gotten to work yet."
"Women don't sweat, Bess. They glisten."
"Well then, I'm glistening quite profusely."
A few hours later I stopped glistening altogether and was whisked into an air conditioned office building on suspiscion of heat exhaustion. An hour after that I was sent home early, wobbly kneed and clammy. There, I basked in the coolness of a vent and slept quite soundly, managing not to think a wit about all the work the afternoon should have seen me do.
Such is the work I'm bent over now. Blech.
That said, by Fiday night I had recovered enough to go on something of a "date." It went well, and I'm still giddy. Isn't it strange how people always turn up when you're not looking?
